grateful Communication Arts recognized this work in the Photo Annual. It was a true labor of love.
I saw these as diptychs from the start: one fixed lens and no crew. An intimate look of details, scars and markings. I love the positive/negative space and how stacking two captures passing of time and tension of where they intersect. Subjects were paid $20 in cash and I spent roughly 10-15 minutes with each. Simple colored walls in open shade unified sessions shot months apart. Only once was I concerned for my safety. Giant shout out to Josh (Rimmed hat, hand to head, checked shirt and tie) a musician, style god and my shepherd.
